Awards

In 2007 Michelle Thomas was honoured with a nomination and successful granting of a Star at the Starzone walk of fame. In recognition of significant contribution to the community. Frankston City Council Mayor Glen Aitken bestowed the award on Michelle for her work with Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation and Youth Musical Theatre.

In 2009 The Rotary foundation of Rotary International Named Michelle Thomas a Paul Harris Fellow for her work with Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation especially during the 2009 Black Saturday Fire rescue and recovery effort and her work with children's theatre with in the region. In appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.

18th July 2011, Councillor David Asker, Presented Animalia wildlife shelter with a certificate to acknowledge the work within the community by  Animalia wildlife shelter

In 2013 Michelle Thomas was Presented the  Australian Local Government   "Innovation in volunteering" Award thanking her for commitment and dedication. The Hon Bruce Billson MP presented this award, Michelle unfortunately was in hospital and John Thomas  accepted on her behalf.

At the same ceremony Steven Kuiter was also awarded the "Young Volunteer Award" for his contribution to wildlife rescue with Animalia Wildlife Shelter.
